Brasilia, Brazil. Today Wetlands International joined forces with Conservation International, Forest Trends IUCN, The Nature Conservancy and WWF to open the Nature-Based Solutions Pavilion at the 8th World Water Forum. The Pavilion features a full week of events showcasing how nature can provide cost-effective, long-term solutions to water security, that provides benefits for food security, climate, health, human displacement, and biodiversity around the world.

WWF8 brings together the world’s leading water experts for discussions around thematic, regional and political issues related to water every three years. For the first time ever, some of the leading nature conservation organisations working on freshwater ecosystems have joined together to showcase the power of nature-based solutions. The Nature-Based Solutions Pavilion will stimulate discussions and host workshops, training sessions and talks from global experts to share experiences, tools and successful approaches. The Pavilion is located at E22C in the Expo. The full Pavilion agenda is available here.

Wetlands International is participating in several sessions at the Nature-Based Solutions Pavilion and in the wider Forum. We invite everyone to join us as we present exciting new initiatives and our current work unlocking nature’s solutions for water.

Chris Baker, Programme Head Water Resources, represented Wetlands International in opening the Nature-Based Solutions Pavilion
