WASHINGTON, DC—Jay Brodsky has joined AGU’s leadership team as the Chief Digital Officer. Brodsky is a technology executive with broad experience in the information services industry, digital transformation, and cybersecurity at non-profit organizations, as well as private and Fortune 500 companies. In his new role at AGU, Brodsky will use digital means to collaboratively advance and communicate the value of science, leading the way to ensure a sustainable future.

“AGU is pleased to welcome Jay to our team. His proven ability to yield lasting results and his wealth of experience leading transitional efforts and advancing relationships within various organizations will help AGU implement and execute a cutting-edge online experience for both our members and the public,” said AGU Executive Director and CEO Chris McEntee. “Jay’s expertise will be a major asset to AGU as we work to transform the way we use technology in the coming months and years and will be particularly timely as we celebrate the organization’s Centennial.”

Prior to joining AGU, Brodsky served as the managing principal of Align Digital, a technology consulting firm based in Arlington, Va. In his role at Align Digital, Brodsky supported digital transformation efforts for trade and scientific associations, multimedia publishers, industry-leading education providers, and the nation’s largest cultural repository. He has also served as Chief Information Officer for Thompson Media Group and for Atlantic Media Company, a publisher of some of the most influential media outlets in the U.S. Clients in Brodsky’s portfolio included The Atlantic, National Journal, and Government Executive.

“I’m excited to join such an innovative team at AGU, and I look forward to leveraging my experience to drive a transformational journey that will influence digital optimization to better serve AGU’s community of Earth and space scientists,” said AGU Chief Digital Officer Jay Brodsky. “I hope to bolster AGU’s leadership as a scientific association, and my goal is to build both vision and technical capacity to support the crucial scientific discussions taking place amongst the AGU community.”

Brodsky earned his B.S. in computer science engineering at the University of Pennsylvania, as well as an MBA from the Kellogg School at Northwestern University and an M.S. in cybersecurity strategy from George Washington University.
