Dear colleague,
This virtual special issue entitled “Digital Earth and Big Earth Data” is dedicated to the celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the International Symposium on Digital Earth. Thirty papers originally published in the period from 2008 inaugural issue to the 2019 latest issue of the International Journal of Digital Earth have been selected in this collection.
These papers range from the Digital Earth concept, technologies and applications to the big Earth data research. We hope this collection will inspire new discussions and research submissions on a renewed vision of Digital Earth.
