The Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) has launched a campaign encouraging people to stand up to workplace abuse.
The ‘Stand Up To Workplace Abuse’ campaign urges the public to tell Australian Government senators to support the Ensuring Integrity Bill.
The bill is back before the Senate after the Federal Government’s initial attempt to pass the laws suffered a shock defeat in December last year.
The campaign page details some of the worst cases of union offending and urges the public to “say no to violence, abuse, threats and intimidation in Australian workplaces” while highlighting “Australian workers deserve workplaces free from disrespect and lawlessness”.
“Our senators need to hear the concerns of all Australians,” the campaign page states.
“We cannot afford have our voices drowned out by political games and workplace bullying coming from big trade unions and the high powered, highly paid elite who lead them in Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra.
“We are encouraging support for real, reasonable rules to ensure trade unions, like the rest of us, obey the law and abide by the decisions of our courts.”

AMMA has long supported passage of the Ensuring Integrity Bill since it was first introduced in 2017. It remains one of eight workplace reform priorities identified for the 46th Parliament in AMMA’s policy booklet Pathway to Productivity.
AMMA will continue to advocate for the important measures within the Ensuring Integrity Bill that will considerably improve our nation’s industrial relations environment and promote greater compliance with industrial laws.
