To deliver the European Green Deal, achieve a net reduction of at least 55% of greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and climate-neutrality by 2050, the Commission is proposing to revise these four laws, which cover emissions across all sectors of the economy.

In October 2020, the Commission published inception impact assessments for each of these revisions, which remain open for public feedback until 26 November.

Open public consultations give interested parties the opportunity to express their views and contribute at all steps of the policy and law-making process. Citizens and organisations now have until 5 February 2021 to submit their responses to the open public consultations launched today.
