Geneva, 21 June 2016 – In line with the objectives of the reporting work stream of the Redefining Value program, WBCSD is continuing to collaborate with its Global Network partners to scale up the effectiveness of non-financial reporting and replicate Reporting matters locally.

A couple of months after the launch of Reporting matters América Latina, Global Network partners from Hong Kong,PhilippinesSingaporeTaiwan and Vietnam convened in Singapore to attend a three-day training on the Reporting matters methodology in view of rolling out the project in their region. While WBCSD Reporting matters will continue to provide an overview of reporting trends within its global membership, the Global Network partners can provide useful insights into regional trends and play a critical role in promoting non-financial reporting in their respective constituencies.

“We are delighted to have hosted this training session. With Singapore Stock Exchange mandating non-financial disclosure for listed companies from 2017 onwards, Reporting matters will be a very useful analytical tool for companies to benchmark with the best and improve their reporting performance” says Constant Van Aerschot, Executive Director of the BCSD Singapore.

"With more and more Filipino companies publishing sustainability reports, WBCSD's Reporting matters is a timely and very useful tool to benchmark the effectiveness of existing reports in the country while helping companies improve the quality of their future reports. As the WBCSD's Global Network Partner in the Philippines, Philippine Business for the Environment is keen to undertake WBCSD's Reporting matters process to all our member companies who publishes sustainability reports. We are grateful to have been invited to attend the recent three-day training in Singapore. The training has provided PBE a wider and clearer lens through which we can better assess the quality of reports being produced in the country today. Moving forward, we are inspired to communicate the Reporting matters to more Philippine companies." states Bonar Laureto, Executive Director, Philippine Business for the Environment.

In light of the recent launch of the Singapore Stock Exchange Sustainability Indices and other non-financial reporting developments expected to take place in the region, WBCSD welcomes this type of collaboration and will continue to support its Global Network partners in their efforts to promote effective reporting practices.
