英文摘要Ecogeographical rules, such as Bergmann’s and Allen’s rules, describe empirical observations of latitudinal patterns in homeotherm morphology. Bergmann’s rule predicts that populations within a species or closely related species have smaller body sizes in warmer climates, whereas Allen’s rule predicts a greater proportion of limbs and appendages relative to body size. Bergman’s and Allen’s principles are challenging to test, given the wide range of factors that influence animal morphology, including climate [1–4].
